What will happen? Will it hurt? Will you stay with me? Reading Dentist with your child is the perfect opportunity to talk about these questions, and many more! Young children's lives are full of new experiences and these books help make them less scary. The simple conversational text and lively illustrations are carefully designed to encourage further dialogue between reader and child. Use these books as a starting point to talk to your child and help them to understand and prepare for these events, and to share any worries they may have.
What a brilliant book for children who are nervous about the dentist, or even for children who do not know what to expect. This good summarises how it feels to have a filling done and a check up, which is really good for children to get an idea. I love how the illustrations are a little realistic and relatable. The excitement of the chair is something to keep children excited about, I will definitely be reading this to my nephew who will be visiting the dentist very soon! Overall a really good book to help any nerves.
Okay, so I really liked this book. It was more in depth than I expected it to be, talking about the dentist, what they do, how they look etc, very important for kids who are nervy. The book then went on to talk about fillings in teeth etc, and I felt this was important for kids to know about as when I was little it wasn't much talked about and it goes about it in a better way than I could.
I really think that the way it's explained, it deserves five stars! Top marks!
Perhaps one should not complain when one’s pediatrician gives one’s child a free book with each regular visit… but not one of these books has actually been any *good* thus far. Far from selling B on the concept of going to the dentist, this served only to confuse.
T loved this book, especially after her first visit to the dentist. "Read" over and over again. Level is too high for two year old but she still enjoyed looking at pictures, listening to the story and "reading" it herself.
