V of V was previously published in 2009 under the name Svartesol, in its new edition it has been greatly expanded with information gained from the author (and others’) personal spiritual experiences astrally travelling to Vanaheim. However it is made pretty clear throughout the book what information is from historical sources and what is spiritual experience.

The Vanir receive a lot less attention than the more well known Aesir (Valhalla lies in their territory, for the unfamiliar and to get some bearing). This tome teaches very well of the differences and similarities. I think that it is a good read for anyone interested in the old religion of the Germanic and Scandinavian areas. I had trouble deciding what rating to give this book, but largely because I've acted as an editor on many, many occaisions and I desperately wanted to act as an editor for this book.

The amount of information presented in this text is enormous, especially considering the fact that it's about a religious/spiritual tradition that has been largely lost due to selective editing of the lore and the ravages of history.
