In the Ninth Lost Tale of Mercia, Jayden Woods paints a portrait of a woman fighting against her station and gender, rebelling against all that is expected of her even as a patient and tolerant Viking does his best to bring her happiness. It's well-written, giving the reader a rather clear glimpse into Runa's psyche - as well as a peek into the mind of the man who loves her.
