4 1/2 stars - rounding to 5 because of the accomplishments of the author.

As a Houstonian and fan of courtroom drama, I really enjoyed this book.

I would recommend skipping the Beyond Texas chapter about Vance's time in the American District Attorney Association near the end; the only interesting story was the one about Jim Garrison (and Garrison's douche move). This chapter really didn't add anything to the book.
