A fine, perfectly serviceable if not spectacular school story focusing around a substitute head teacher and friction with the school's new head girl. There's the usual quota of trouble from other pupils - but it this it's mostly from the Lower Sixth rather than the middles which makes a nice change. A pleasant way of passing a few hours, but not much more than that.
Very good school story. All the usual elements...stand in headmistress who gets off on wrong foot with popular head girl, causing her difficulties and a couple of obnoxious school girls who also make difficulties! But of course, it all turns out well in the end.
