Have probably read enough of these now that it's just starting to seem redundant. It all seems in very good taste, though. A good place to get some general direction, but pretty light on specific ideas.

If you're planning a wedding, or even any big event in general, this book is WONDERFUL. Every chapter covers a different aspect of a wedding and lists the average amount of money spent. Then it will go into more detail about whether this is something you should actually care about--whether you can cut costs, or should spend big--and even breaks down several different ways you can reduce the amount of money spent. The best piece of advice throughout the book, "Don't tell them it's for a wedding!" Apparently just about every vender will double or triple their rates at the sound of that word. I guess we will see if her advice panned out on March 29th!

I didn't have time to get through all of this book either, but initial forays were promising. I would agree that it is definitely more chic than the others I looked it, which might be a good guide for my sister-in-law's taste.

good tips for saving on wedding

writing is clear and straightforward, not annoying and cosmo-y.

Very helpful...but some of the tips are sort of common sense. Still, for someone who has no clue what they are doing in the incredibly expensive world of weddings...its worth reading.
