"The Depression Sourcebook" is a complete guide to understanding mood disorders, including what can be done to lessen symptoms and alleviate suspected causes. This revised second edition provides new information on psychotherapy, bipolar disorders, depression in children and elderly people, medications, and treatment options such as exercise and nutrition.
I have no academic or professional credentials to lend to this review, but I felt from an educated perspective this book was pretty legit. Clinical psychology is of course a delicate topic so everything I read in this field I try to process with a good amount of skepticism, not taking anything as gospel. I do feel like I have a much better understanding of depression now and appreciate the biological considerations the author mentioned with respect to these conditions.
