Having been through a divorce myself, I can certainly say that this book covered the basics (and then some) about what to do and what not to do when getting a divorce. Even though parents may begin to hate each other, it is important for them to realize that the children should always come first. This book had blank pages to write down thoughts, ideas, etc. Also, it is complete with a glossary, extra reading, and several other tidbits that make it a must have for divorcing parents.

Really great conversational book that will help you get through the arduous task of talking with your kids about your divorce. It's also helpful from the standpoint of knowing how to talk to yourself about it, not just the kids. Looking forward to Dr. Banschick's other insights in the series of books. http://theintelligentdivorce.com

Divorce has often been equated to how death psychologically affects us, and that stands to reason because it is the death of a relationship. All of the same aspects of grief found in other loss a ...more

A must read for EVERYONE who is going through a divorce and has children involved. I read this and though, "where was this when my parents got divorced?" I really wish it was, because a lot of things that happened during their divorce still affects me negatively. This book is full of everything one needs to know when going through a divorce with children, such as: how to tell them, important developmental milestones that parents should be aware of anyway, raising the children, and lots more. It ...more
