i love social speculation

This is a package of two books (if you buy it 2nd hand make sure you get both books).
The first book focuses on practical things like shopping and so on, the second book on Chinese cultural things such as 'degrees of politeness' and so on.

I thought the book(s) were very good for self-study, it was very detailed in everything it did: readings, explanation of the readings, grammar explanations and examples, followed by many grammar exercises, and also listening exercises.
The whole set felt comprehensive: nothing is rushed, it is analyzed and presented well.
