Seventeen-year-old Maya Reed wants nothing more than to live a normal life, but when you’re an anomaly that shouldn’t exist? A normal life isn’t feasible.
I died ten times. Ten times. And the only thing I only remembered upon returning was his face. I could never recall his name, or who he was to me, but I knew he was a vital part of my past. He was the key to my future; a future I was desperate to retain.

But I’m not supposed to be here.
I’m running out of time, and if I don’t find him soon, I fear what will come in my absence.

Okay Read

I received an advance review copy for free from BookSirens, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Thank you Nicole Sobon for the opportunity to read your book. This was an alright read. This is a young adult story about love, loss, and sacrifice. I thought that the story was okay. I found the story interesting in some parts, but I did feel a bit disappointed about how the concept of time travel was depicted. I found it confusing and boring. The characters were okay. I thought Maya was a good character. I found her character relatable. I connected with her and it was nice to understand her as a character. To me, Maya was smart and witty. I liked how she kept fighting for the people that she loved. Also, I thought that the other characters could have been more relatable. I thought that the ending was interesting and it was the best part. I wish the story could have been longer because I think it could have been better if the story had more to the plot and more to the relationship between Cam and Maya. I am looking forward to reading more books by Nicole Sobon. I believe that she has a lot of potential. Overall, an okay read.

I’m really not sure how to describe this book. It is an adventure, supernatural, with magic and action. It is young adult and romance. It would probably fit into more genres, but I'll let you figure out those on your own. The book is quite short, more of a novella by today’s standard, at only 131 pages. Formatting and grammar were carefully watched. The book was marketed to me as a time travel book, and although it mentions time travel, all the story says is that the heroine participated in it. Because of the book length, I don’t feel the characters were well developed, but I was able to not allow that to bother me. Each time I thought I knew where the story was going, it switched genres and the plot went in a 90 degree switch up. I thought this book was somewhat written like an early Dean Koontz novel. It kept me interested and on my toes to guess where the story was really going. I received this book as an ARC, and leave this review as an honest assessment of my thoughts.

I enjoyed trying to put the puzzle pieces together figuring out about her parents, partner and sibling. I enjoyed the opening part of this read when she went back in time and had to try to find him. The magic concept and timeline travels were a little confusing sometimes seeming a bit far-fetched. The storyline lost me at times but overall an easy read.
