A few years ago Sherry had an epiphany. Life is what you make it- and she was ready to make it HERS. So, she grabbed the bull by the horns and quit her job at a tech startup to pursue personal passions and adventure dreams. She successfully taught herself graphic design. She hiked 558 miles through southern California on the Pacific Crest Trail. She wrote some romances and self-published them.
This was my first read from this author. I liked that it was written in the first person and that the story started right away. I got pulled into in the second I started reading it. I liked Delphine, she was a wonderful character. I am looking forward of reading more from this author.

"Crash Course" is a sweet opposites attract story. Two completely opposite people come together in their small town. There is some steam, suspense, family involved and a little action.

i think the plot is not well thought enough. why did i said that? majorly is because i feel that the author is trying to be a joker by giving similar names but with different spelling to the side characters. the hero's youngest brother is called "rhett" and his cousin who married the heroine's sister is called "reid". at one point when the hero mentioned about going to reid's house, i suddenly went lost and was thinking is he talking about his brother or his cousin??
i mean the author can give the characters' pet cat names like "aramis" and "d'artagnan" but couldn't come up with better names for the characters other than "reid" and "rhett", like come on...
then in chapter 14, i got lost again because the author seems to insert the wrong name in one of the context (felt that way because it doesn't make sense to me no matter how many times i read it). so, in chapter 12, hero's brother, wyatt mentioned their youngest brother reid is bringing a girl home for dinner. then when we fast forward to chapter 14 where they were discussing about a certain happening at the actual dinner, and then this character went "well, imagine coming all the way from the city and being involved in a shooting here!" wyatt's girlfriend exclaims.like huh? wyatt's girlfriend?? in all the previous chapter, there was no mention of wyatt having a girlfriend, just that he had his eyes on someone already. moreover, wyatt was doing things like whispering to the heroine, kissing her temple to make his brother jealous, if he had a girlfriend, would he be doing all these?
additionally, what are these errors that are practically in your face? ~ "i'm glad your home." like really? "your" home?? ~ "you an A.J. getting married?" "you an A.J."?? A.J. became an item now i guess...
overall, the execution needs work because it does feels a little choppy with the timeline skipping.

Delphine’s career is in jeopardy, and bad luck in nipping at her heels, and she does the one thing she thought she would never do, and that is to return to her hometown after 8-years and seek refuge there. AJ is the chief of police, and when Delphine’s demons come back to haunt her, he will protect and keep her safe by any means. This is a well written action-packed story, with drama, emotions, friendships, humor, witty banter, romance, intrigue, danger, suspense, twists, and love, which leads to a thrilling and addictive page turner. At first glance, Delphine and A.J. look to be total opposites, they even think that of themselves. When they start to know each other better, long held opinions change. Delphine is between a rock and a hard place, through no fault of her own, unintentionally working for the mob. A.J. the strait laced police chief should want to arrest her, but feels very protective instead. A HEA isn’t really on the cards, but after much drama, the FBI, a murder attempt or three, Delphine’s problems dissolve, and putting down roots could actually happen.
A.J. and Delphine are like fire and water. He is the epitome of law and order, and she is the ultimate wild child. When she returns home trouble follows and the people that laundered money with her friend who was also her manager that has died comes after Delphine, will A.J. be able to keep her safe. This action-packed story kept me glued to the pages from start to finish.

Just ok for me. I kinda felt like I walked in on the middle of something. It may have been because Delphine had so many secrets and they were coming out slowly, but I have read books where there were flashbacks to get the story and I didn't feel this way. Maybe its the author's writing style that I didn't connect with or it could've just been me.
