Even though this book was published 25 years ago, it is still as relevant to today as it was then. Sure, the slang and some of the statistics have changed a bit, but I found the overall ideas to be thoughtful and strong. I liked the way it phrased many ideas that are more common today, but still need discussion. It challenged me to reexamine my preexisting notions about gangs. It was very thorough for how short it was. Overall, a very strong examination on these important subjects.
