What an awesome read. As a Mexican-American, this book really hit home for me. It was like getting a glimpse of my parents up-bringing. The best part is that you DO NOT have to be a Mexican-American to enjoy this book. The themes of the importance of education, compassion, respect and consideration that run throughout this small memoir can be appreciated by any racial background. Extremely well written with intelligent ideas thoughtfully laid on paper. This is definitely one I will be passing along to the rest of my family.
