Selections of the writings of Philo of Alexandria, edited with an introduction by Hans Saadia Gaon's Book of Doctrines and Beliefs, abridged, introduced and translated from the Arabic by Alexander Altmann; and Yehuda Halevi's influential Kuzari, abridged and with an introduction and commentary by Isaak Heinemann, with a selection of Halevis poetry. All educated students of Jewish thought should be familiar with these seminal writers.
