Quick little guide to staying in the positive mode. Short stories defining the simple principles we all know but rarely live by. It's not all about the "you" it is about treating others well, believing in the good, not always expecting the worst. Trust, honesty and being better to the world around you, makes a difference to your happiness.
I have this one on my office desk. When I need a quick little hit of positive energy to get out of the funk of life, this is one of the books I chose from. I am an emotional sponge. I absorb the bad energies, good and the blahs and will carry them for the day. I have found it useful with my experiences. Some of the stories border on cheesy, but they work.

Positive Impact is a inspirational book about life. It tells you about life lessons and how to make it through some hard times. In some of the pages it will say something like "A positive attitude will not get the desired result every time, but a Negative one surely will." (p. 69) When I first read this in the book, it made me think about it for a long time. If you have a positive attitude about something that would make a difference in the world, then you could help the world better than if you had a negative attitude about it. The front cover of the book has this quote on it; "To have a positive impact on the life of another has to be one of the sweetest experiences..." This was said by Ken Blanchard.
This book is a Number 1 Best Seller, and I can see why. This is such an inspirational book to read. One of the sentences in the book says, "To get what you want out of life, you must first help others get what they want." (p. 60) This is a very inspirational sentence because it makes you realize that if you want someone to help you do something then you need to help them first.
Please read this book if you like inspirational writings and if you want to be inspired by the words in this book

Very Inspiring book. Talks about how to treat people the way they want to be treated. Always be polite to everyone no matter what. Share ideas do not keep them secret and encourage others to share positive ideas with each other. Do what you love it will make your days go by and the natural passion will make it not seem like work. Always encourage others to pursue their dreams and provide every avenue possible for them to do so. Always provide positive words of encouragment as often as possible. Display accomplishments from over the years to see the growth may help with the direction of the company. Make plans, set goals, include everyone in organization. This book says that it can be read in 59 minutes and you can definitely do so

Just another of those self help feel good books that people write to put a feather in their cap. In my opinion, everyone should have a positive outlook to their job as standard operating procedure, but that isn't real life - is it?

This was a pretty good book set in a more story-book style. It teaches more principles on how to be positive and be a leader and doing what you love. It's better to go through life doing what you love to do and being successful at it rather than doing something you have to do and not loving it.

The book is very good. It teaches valuable things. But the best part is that you do not get bored while reading it (as you would if you read "self-help" book) because it is in a story format.

A must read. Simple, light but valuable.

A very, very short book about making yourself a, well, positive impact, this little work of writing is a very nice break from the heavy-worded language of a lot of financial books.

Quick book and a great read. The message I truly got was not pursuing a check but passionately pursuing a purpose through business ownership.

Several key principles:

Most of the time people already know what they are doing wrong. Some lack the self-awareness to see what isn't working. But most know. Therefore, the manager doesn't usually need to spend much time criticizing or pointing out shortcomings, nor should he! Rather, most people are surprisingly clueless when it comes to seeing what they do well and where they are having an impact. Why is this? They lack the global perspective of a manager, the ability to step back and see where one individual is different from his peers, and how these distinctions can become an advantage. Page 21

The most important thing a manager can do is take time to listen to people. Walk slowly through the lobby, and stop frequently to listen. Page 24

Leaders do whatever it takes. They serve their employees/organization. Page 29

Think of your staff as family. Page 29

We are an accumulation of the five people we associate with most and an average of their income. Page 31

Pay your children to read and report on biographies and devotional/wisdom literature. Page 32

Treat others as they wish to be treated. How do you know? Ask them! Listen! Listen to what people are telling you, not just what they are saying. This is a 99% rule. Page 37

Find out what motivates people and commit to helping them achieve it, especially those around you, especially outside the workplace. Page 54

Know who really counts in the company. Page 54

Successful people all have a zealous optimism and believe they will ultimately succeed. Page 63

Surround yourself with only the best people you can find, treat them like family, help them attain their goals through mentorship, and let them share in the

success. Page 68

We owe it to our ourselves and everyone to find out what our special gift is and make an impact by pursuing it. Page 71

This is a book that I will re-read often. A very easy read. I can apply the concepts to my life immediately.

Application points:
1. Do the hardest thing first. The rest will be easy.
2. We are the reflection of the 5 people we associate with the most and our income is the average of these 5 people. Choose friends wisely.
3. An attitude of gratitude flavors everything you do. Learning to be thankful is the golden thread through every truly successful life.
