Bridget expertly packs a great deal into this novel, which is cleverly structured to retain the tension and mystery throughout. Her characters are entirely credible – no one is all hero and no one all villain. I loved the story from beginning to end, particularly since much of the setting is familiar to me. It takes place in Hout Bay and in the Karoo in South Africa. The only blips on my reading radar were the two (I think) incidents involving redheads. It seemed to me Bridget doesn’t like ginge ...more
