I'm giving it fours stars based on the usefulness of the information and the appropriateness of this book as an introduction to the chakras. It is somewhat geared towards budding practitioners/body workers, but informative and interesting for the layperson as well. I like her use of research, descriptions of chakras in history, myth, and religion, in-depth look at kundalini and the first chakra, and the relationship of disease to the chakras. I found information about energy levels in the body ...more

This book provided many basic descriptions of what chakras, and auras are, and what their purpose is in existence, so far as it is known both presently and as passed down since ancient times. There are many helpful diagrams, photographs, mythological stories and art pieces that assist learning. Wheels of Light also provides detailed steps, and roots of information, for healers (those who are already, or wish to be), and one of the best descriptions of kundalini I have come across yet. The book ...more

Really great book. I recommended it to a whole bunch of people. It’s great initiation into the world of healers and chakras and auras and energy, yet it’s that very broad spectrum in which your being initiated that was this book’s downfall.
It just lacked in length. It wasn’t comprehensive enough. The first few sections were good enough but after that you just found yourself wanting more and you did not get more. You felt like energy was being withheld from you. Not that I expect the author the

Reread this book a couple of years after I last read it. I still really like it. Rosalyn brings science and the metaphysics together and explains the chakras. She has a slightly different perspective on the role of the chakras from what is currently described in the western world and I think that is an interesting angle. She concentrates on the root chakra, and given that most of could be more grounded in the western world I think that's a useful focus. If you're wondering about chakras and ...more

This is a great book about energy and health and the history of energy medicine through time and different cultures. She explains details about the body's energy systems that I have not read in any other books on the subject.

My dr recommended I read it and take anything from it that spoke to me; sadly I could not get into the book. Maybe I will try again on a few months

I enjoyed reading this book. The Chakras are a fascinating topic. I found this book to be full of useful information, and lovely pictures. I plan to read it again in the future.

Book 3/52 for 2014. Pretty much just read this because I told a friend I would. It's a little tedious unless you're interested in chakras.
