The guidebook material is now probably a little out of date (the Euro-Sterling exchange rate has changed, I'm sure!), and my party will probably be less worried about driving on the left than the intended, American, audience, but this seemed a good introduction to the important ancient sites in Ireland. A fuller report on whether they are right about which ones are good will have to wait until after my holiday!

For someone like me who lives ancient Irish history, this book combined a history lesson with three itineraries for visiting Ancient Ireland over the span of seven days. I enjoyed the details, with recommendations of where to stay and eat. Though a bit older, I loved that there was not too much information put in this book, but a solid amount so I learned things and was not overwhelmed.
