This is a well written book by a respected reporter of the 20th century. I like the way it was organized in a chronological order so that I wasn't mixed up about what he was talking about. Very meaty. I can usually read a page a minute but this book took about 3 minutes a page because of the complexity.

A fascinating, personal look at American History in the stories Mr Smith covered.
