Becky Pruitt has always prided herself on knowing everything that's happening on her successful ranch, which makes her foreman Nate Paxton's admission to her quite a surprise. With the notorious Deadeye Gang on the loose, Nate--a former U.S. Marshal--believes that Becky's ranch might be the best spot for a group of Marshals to use as a base and hideout.
The timing couldn't be more crucial for the growing town of Pine Valley, and Becky feels a commitment to help. But after escaping the grasp of her harsh father, she's never liked giving up control--of her life or her ranch. Again and again, Nate's proven himself to her and she soon realizes that if there's anyone she can trust with her ranch--and her heart--it might be him. But the outlaws won't go quietly, and as danger draws ever nearer, Becky and Nate are faced with impossible choices that will test their growing bond.
This rousing conclusion to Mary Connealy's Wyoming Sunrise series is an exhilarating blend of humor, romance, and adventure.

I've been looking forward to finishing this series (if this is the end), even though I wish there were more books in it. Nell's story is still my favourite, but I'd recommend the whole series anyway. It's fun, well-written and, I feel, historically accurate.
The ending was great, it further wrapped up everyone's stories from the previous books and was so sweet to read.
My only real complaint is that I was hoping for more romance between Becky and Nate, but what we got was cute. I just loved that proposal scene, it was out of nowhere (for them) but I was wondering when it would come up.
I'll be checking out more of Mary Connealy's bloos in the future.
Marshaling Her Heart is book 3 in the Wyoming Sunrise Series and follows Becky Pruitt's journey through her successful ranch, relationship with Nate Paxton and her estranged abusive father. Becky has always been a very interesting character to me and I was super excited to follow along in her journey in this conclusion to the Wyoming Sunrise series! I really enjoyed book 1 (5 stars) and book 2 (4 stars).
I did really enjoy the story and the conclusion for all of our characters because we got to see a lot of their endings from book 1 and 2 - loved that! Loved being back in this town and seeing the ending with the faith content -- the peace Becky experienced. "To live is Christ, to die is Gain." Amen. She was at peace no matter what was going on in those moments. So much action throughout this story with the drama surrounding her father, the deadeye gang etc. I am excited to read more from Mary as this series has been great!
The only things that brought this specific book down for me was the amount of women's suffrage movement information was a bit overdone for me personally, I liked learning about it in general, but again, I wanted more of the relationship between Nate and Becky to be expanded upon versus details with the speaker for the movement, all the little things tied to that. I think this will be personal to every reader honestly. I just think we could have seen more developed with Nate and Becky personally.
We see a lot of hardships Becky had endured with her mother and brothers deaths and the abuse from her father. He does not like a strong female around and would hit her if she did things he didn't like. So we do see some of that abuse on page between Becky and her father. It was sad to see her relationship with him but I am glad we see her resolution and her healing taking place throughout the story.
I think readers who love a good western story, ranch setting, strong female leads and clean romance will enjoy this series! The ending I think was my favorite part with the faith content.
Thank you to Bethany House and NetGalley for providing me with a copy to honestly read and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was the perfect end to the series and I loved getting to know Becky. Her story isn't an easy one, but there's humor and light to keep the pages turning. And the hero is the right touch of strong and vulnerable. I'm so glad I had the chance to read this Western romance that's laced with humor and mystery.
“The frontier was a quiet place, not counting the stampedes and thunderstorms and blizzards. And wolves and robbers and murderers. All right fine-the frontier was a potentially riotous place.” The Dead Eye Gang that played an important part in books 1 and 2 strikes again, this time deadlier than ever. With a chance to stop them once and for all, former US Marshal Nate Paxton agrees to help his brother Sal and other Marshals. But things prove difficult when they must keep secrets in order to lure the outlaws into a trap. This was an exciting story that focused on Becky Pruitt, the only one of three friends not yet married. She is the lady boss of her own vast ranch with Nate as her foreman. The romance between Nate and Becky advances as does the danger from the outlaw gang. They are all in for a shock to find out who is the gang leader. Ms.Connealy always puts some humor in to break up the tension. This time it is an ongoing spat between newlyweds Leland and Samantha that is comical. I always appreciate that this author shows her characters with a dependence on God. This was a great windup to an absorbing series set in the old West. *I received a complimentary copy of this book from Bethany House on behalf of the author. I was not required to post a favorable review. All opinions are my own.*
I have so enjoyed this Wyoming Sunrise, full of classic Mary Connealy mayhem, humor, romance, and faith. In Marshaling Her Heart, we at long last get to see Becky Pruitt fall in love and we learn who’s behind the Deadeye Gang once and for all. A particular moment in the book – when a character whispers the words, “To live is Christ, to die is gain” – is one of those moments when a story reaches out and grabs you in the heart, to linger with you for a long while after you’ve closed the last page. Those were some of the last words my dad said before he passed away, and seeing that character come to the same level of peace that Dad had was special for me and will be, I think, for all readers. Not having anything to do with my father of course but because it’s relatable and inspiring all at once.
If you’ve read the other books in the series, you’ve been well-acquainted with Becky who is best friends with Mariah and Nell, the heroines from Forged in Love and The Laws of Attraction, respectively. She’s the one who readily loans out her truly remarkable guard dog Brutus when he’s needed by her friends, and she is always ready to come to someone’s aid. She comes across as a strong, no-nonsense, independent young woman with a heart of gold, and in many ways that’s exactly what she is. But in Marshaling Her Heart, we get to see a more vulnerable side of her – one which will require her to rely on those who love her for help. It also will deepen her faith (and maybe ours too) and lead her to a happily-ever-after she didn’t see coming.
Which brings me to Nate Paxton, her trusty ranch foreman. He is steady and calming but also not a man to be messed with. Particularly if someone is messing with Becky. Even more particularly if that someone is Becky’s father. I loved watching him defend Becky in the wake of her father’s rage that she would no longer bend to his will – whether that means moving back home (I actually laughed out loud at her father for thinking she would) or helping with the suffrage movement. This puts both men – Nate as well as Becky’s father – in sharp contrast to each other, and even though I already thought Nate was a great guy he earned even more of my respect in this book. Not only for protecting Becky but for doing so without smothering her or diminishing her independence and strength. He – like Clint and Brand – is one of the truly good heroes, as only Mary Connealy can write them.
Bottom Line: If we must say goodbye to this delightful Wyoming Sunrise series by Mary Connealy, Marshaling Her Heart is the perfect send-off. Danger, humor, romance, more danger, more humor, more romance, a couple of the world’s best dogs, US Marshals, an outlaw gang, yummy food, at least one new baby, all the characters (including Brand’s girls) we’ve come to love, and a faith thread that was meaningful and sweet – its many layers kept me turning the pages, eager to see all things would end up for Mariah and Clint, Nell and Brand, and now Becky and Nate. The epilogue hit me in all the feels and left me with a satisfied sigh in my reader heart for a story well told.
(I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book)
" 'The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?' She could almost smile because the peace had swept away all her fear. And she hung there and waited and prayed."
After finishing the previous book, "The Laws of Attraction" (5 stars for that one! If you haven't read it, you seriously need to!) which ended with a pretty good cliffhanger, I couldn't wait to read the story of Mariah and Nell's best friend, Becky! And Marshaling Her Heart certainly didn't disappoint.
Becky Pruitt is a tough gal, as if you couldn't tell from the gorgeous cover which features her in a rugged yet feminine cowgirl's attire and packing her trusty pistol. For those who don't already know, I love a well-written "girls with guns" story, and this is one of those!
The story mentions a bit about women's suffrage, but it doesn't stay there too long to my relief. Often in other books the subject is overdone and written in a very irritating and anti-male fashion, but in this book that wasn't the case. Before long, we get back to the wild west manhunt we've been waiting for throughout this series.
The only offensive language in this book was "fool" and that was used just twice.
Marshaling Her Heart was a great conclusion to a nice western series, and I'm really looking forward to what's next on the horizon for this author!
Thank you to the publisher for the complimentary paperback I received to review through Interviews and Reviews, as well as the complimentary Netgalley ARC I received to review through the Library Thing Early Reviewers program. I was not required to write a positive review, and the thoughts and opinions above are my own.
I have utterly fallen in love with these characters and this series (with exception of the Dead Eye Gang...them I'm not so fond of lol).
From books 1 and 2 I have been dying to get Becky's story.
She's had a rough life and has put up walls that has not only made her successful at running a ranch, but has also kept love out.
Enter Nate.
Nate kind of loses his mind around Becky and it's a readers delight to read about. I love his take charge action in protecting Becky at all costs without stepping on Becky's toes of being his boss. Their chemistry is fun and swoony.
I loved the forced proximity, the protective hero, the strong heroine and the mystery to be solved!
I loved being able to see the first two couples in this series and eve get some chapters from their points of view! This is a fun town to step foot in and I have thoroughly enjoyed this series!
If you like historical westerns, swoony romance and a touch of mystery and suspense I think you'd really love this book!
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the copy. All thoughts in this review are my own.
Content: Western frontier living, women's rights, stagecoach holdups, talk of murder and violence, mild violence, child abuse (not mentioned in great detail-but it's apparent), implied intimacy between married couples, only kisses described.
Becky is a successful rancher much to the aggravation of her estranged father. Her foreman Nate is protective and defends Becky when her dad attempts to strike her. The slow burning romance was a good recipe for independent Becky and Nate.
It was wonderful to spend time again with Nell and Mariah that round out this trio of strong women.
My gratitude to publisher Bethany House for a complimentary NetGalley copy of the novel. I was not required to post a review. All opinions expressed are my own.

This is the third book in the series and I was looking forward to the read. However, in the beginning, Nate one of the ranch hands, talks to Becky through her window at night. As he leaves, he says, “pretty gown.” Then the story perseverates on that, then perseverates on a kiss they shared while she is distraught. I also find it hard to keep track of too many characters. The story brings in the characters from the other books in the series, describes their relationships, then describes what the several new characters in the story look like and what they wear. Became a little much for me. Feeling the story was stuck on details and less on forward movement…
Wow! What a fantastic book! It's full of adventure, intrigue, drama and sweet love! There's so much happening in this book! I love the sense of community that weaves together this story. Each member of the town looks out for each other!
The characters are familiar with a few new ones added in! I enjoyed the continuing stories of Nell and Mariah. They are strong, capable women who are best friends with Becky. Becky has had a difficult life. She has a strained relationship with her father. Nate is remarkable! He's a good man to have around. He's understanding and a good partner.
I highly recommend reading this book! I could hardly put it down because I was so engaged and invested in it!!
Satisfying conclusion to a multi-layered story spanning three adventurous, humorous, and faith-founded books. Connealy is known for her feisty and hardworking leading ladies, and in this series, she has also accomplished what many stories lack with endearing, complex pet characters. These beloved wolf-dogs become an integral element of the story that further emphasizes the bonds of friendship uniting the leading ladies throughout the majority of the series. This western frontier small-town good versus evil adventure is compelling and entertaining. I highly recommend this series.
I found this book to be a wonderful end to the series. Filled with danger and suspense and finally the unveiling on who was the mastermind of the Dead-Eye Gang. I was so happy to read Becky's happy ending. While appearing to have it all as a successful rancher, she has the most to overcome. She is a spunky heroine, filled with grit and determination. Yet when the story was at its darkest moments, her faith was a shining beacon of peace and strength.
I loved the way the author tied up the various characters' storylines in the epilogue. Her focus on young women in roles that were traditionally held by men was a great subplot to the series. Don't get me wrong, the series has a plethora of swoony heroes. Ms. Connealy has a unique voice that just makes her stories, even at their most suspenseful, a joy to read.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author/publisher thorough Netgalley and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Becky, a single woman tired of her father's abuse, takes her inheritance from her grandparents and buys a ranch. Then hires her own ranch hands to help work it. Everything is going fine for several years, but things begin to change, and her life becomes complicated.
A dangerous gang, U.S. Marshalls, and an unexpected new relationship test her strength and faith. The story is filled with suspense, mystery, and non-stop action. It kept me on the edge- of-my-seat wondering how everything would turn out. Lots of surprises and it kept me engaged till the end. A definite page-turner. Highly recommended.
I received a complimentary copy of the book and a positive review is not required. All opinions are my own.
The conclusion of Mary Connealy's Wyoming Sunrise series wraps up the three young women's friendship and growth into young adulthood. Each of the three ladies, Nell, Mariah, and Becky come from different backgrounds and have different talents. They have a strong friendship and support each other in the wild, untamed state of Wyoming.
In 1871, Wyoming was a forward thinking, progressive state even though it was not industrialized or densely populated. The small town in which the three sisters live has had a serious amount of stage coach robberies and murders that are unsettling to this area.
In "Marshaling Her Heart U.S. Marshals come into the area to try to put an end to the robberies and murders. During this time, a scheduled visit by a famous woman's suffrage leader, a woman no less, is about to happen.
Becky has her own ranch and her father has his. He is a cruel, ruthless man that seriously has no love for his daughter. He puts her in harms way.
As the story progresses we find that each of the three young women have found suitable men to love, settled down into normalized lives with, and yes, the marshals have a part in making life in the area just great.
As usual, a book by Mary Connealy is a winner. This series was a fun read that had some interesting history tucked in along with a nice measure of fun and humor.
DISCLOSURE: I received a complimentary copy to facilitate a review. Opinions are mine, alone and are freely given.
Marshaling Her Heart by the amazing wordsmith Mary Connealy is Book Three in her Wyoming Sunrise series. This is a Christian historical western book that includes danger, adventure, and romance. Even though this is Book Three, it may easily be read as a stand alone.
From the very first page this book had me hooked. I was totally invested in spunky Becky and Nate. It was easy to see this was going to be another page turner. The characters were unique and quirky. I enjoyed the strong women in the story, and Becky certainly is one. Nate is an honorable, great guy. There are also some bad guys, too, like the Deadeye Gang.
The writing is evenly paced and the story doesn’t lag. There is a lot going on to keep readers entertained. The author throws in some twists to keep readers on their toes. Her humor is delightful. The conversations sounded authentic for 1870s Wyoming.
There are life and Christian lessons woven throughout this novel. I love books that entertain and educate. Readers will learn about redemption, hope, love, marriage, and taking chances. The best lesson in this series is respect. In today’s world respect is in short supply, especially for women.
I highly recommend this fabulous book. Fans of historical and western fiction will adore it. The series would make a great Christmas gift. It gets a 5 star rating from me. A copy was provided by Celebrate Lit and NetGalley, but these are my honest thoughts. #MarshalingHerHeart #NetGalley
This third book in the Wyoming Sunrise series wraps up the overarching plot of the outlaws targeting local citizens with Becky and Nate working together with the marshals to draw them in. Nate's hidden identity as a marshal takes Becky off-guard, but it adds to her admiration of him, even when they disagree. I loved that the main characters from the previous books play important roles, and Becky's friendship with Nell and Mariah is steadfast. Women's suffrage is a theme throughout the series, with Wyoming being the first state to allow women the vote and to hold offices. They are pretty proud of it, and I liked the historical details. Brand's daughter Samantha and her new role provides some comic relief, and I hope to see her with a story of her own in a future novella! I was happy to see the community band together to defeat the criminals and stand up for peace and freedom.

A wonderful finish to this series! I've loved every minute of this series and I believe this last one will be my favorite. Becky is an amazing woman. I love her charismatic character. I really admired her for standing up for what is hers. . I was happy to see Nell and Mariah back as Becky's friends. I really liked how they stayed friends even after Nell and Mariah got married. The guys are pretty awesome themselves. I love how they want to try and keep the ladies safe but problem is most times they don't want the guys' help. This is why laughed.at certain scenes. I love Connealy's humor. Maybe Samantha and Leland will get their own story. They sure do make for an interesting couple the way they're learning to navigate around each other. It's hilarious. The ending of this story has a satisfying ending because in my opinion we get a special surprise! I'm giving this book 5 stars for an awesome and exciting adventure! I can't wait to see what Connealy writes next! And her book covers are always so beautiful! I highly recommend this book. My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.
“But the outlaws won’t go away quietly, and as danger draws ever nearer, Becky and Nate are faced with impossible choices that will test their growing bond,” the Amazon description states regarding Mary Connealy’s novel, Marshaling Her Heart.
~ What ~ This three-hundred-and-four-page advanced reader copy targets those interested in historical romance dealing with trouble in the Wild West. The topics of physical abuse, murder, and death may not be appropriate for immature readers. The ending includes an excerpt of the beginning of a new series, the author’s biography, acknowledgments, and advertisements.
The third book in the Wyoming Sunrise series, twenty-two-year-old Becky Pruitt has successfully mastered her own cattle ranch after separating herself from her abusive father, thanks to an inheritance. With the help of Nate, her ranch foreman, she agrees to allow the US Marshals to hideout on her land as they investigate the dangerous Deadeye Gang. Only when she learns the truth about her father does she understand why she must lean on God and Nate for survival.
~ Why ~ This is a stand-alone story in part of a series about finding love on the frontier while a band of outlaws terrorize the area. I liked learning about the ranch and the two protagonists’ dedication to do the right thing when faced with decisions. Although I have not read any of the prior books in the series, this one seems to tie up loose ends regarding its characters.
~ Why Not ~ Those who do not like reads about cowboys and outlaws may want to pass on this one. If you do not have a personal relationship with God, you might not care for its Christian overtones, but they are done lightly and mentioned mostly at the end of the story. The plethora of people may confuse some readers.
~ Wish ~ Since this is the last of a series, it would help to have a map of the area and a list of characters at the beginning of the book. While I appreciate the references to God, praying, Bible verses, and depending totally on the Almighty, I wish the tale included the simplistic eternal plan of salvation.
~ Want ~ If you like the prior two books in this romance series about trouble in Wyoming due to outlaws, the start of women’s suffrage, and ranching, this last one will keep you galloping through its pages.
I received a complimentary copy from Bethany House through Interviews & Reviews. I am under no obligation to give a positive review.
“Marshaling Her Heart” is an adventurous Christian western with a blend of romance and mystery. I love the touches of faith as well as how the author incorporated wit.
I’ve really enjoyed this Wyoming Sunrise series. It centers on three friends, Mariah (Forged in Love, book 1) Nell (The Laws of Attraction, book 2) and now Becky. I enjoyed learning more of Becky’s backstory, and connected with her quickly and admired her strength. The romance between her and Nate was sweet, and I appreciate the slow growth of it.
I didn’t want this series to end. I loved the adventures, characters, and threads of faith in each of the three inspiring stories and enjoyed being transported to the west during the 1870s.
First Line: A soft tap on the window snapped Becky Pruitt awake. Series: Wyoming Sunrise book 3 Genre: Christian Historical, Western Author: Mary Connealy Page Count: 304

Good Western Christian Romance. Becky has had a rough history with her father and now it seems like he may be involved in criminal activity. But have no fear Nate, who works for Becky, is a formal lawman who is back in action with a few others. They are there to protect Becky and also catch the criminals. This was a good and enjoyable story! It had the perfect amount of romance, adventure and danger. I really loved the Christian faith elements and scripture throughout. I did not read the previous 2 books in the series and thought it worked well as a stand alone however there are reoccurring characters in this story so it would be beneficial to start with book one to get their backstories. Overall, a great read and I definitely recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from netgalley . All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
I have enjoyed this entire Wyoming Sunrise historical series with its strong female leads and engaging adventures. I do recommend reading the series in order for the maximum reading experience since the tale continues from the first to the final exciting novel. This book features Becky Pruitt, who runs her own ranch, to the dismay of her demanding father—whose control she was glad to escape. The story includes difficult choices and dangerous scenes, with a budding love story thrown in. The compelling plot is threaded with exploration of relationships—between newlyweds, friends, and family—along with their struggles and sweet times. This book ties up the series well just like a cowboy expertly secures his roped cattle. Even if you don’t usually read Westerns, this fun tale will capture your imagination and take you along for a wild ride. This author certainly knows how to deliver powerful fiction. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own. #MarshalingHerHeart #NetGalley
Marshaling Her Heart was a fun Western, although I don't believe that stallions were ridden often on working ranches, especially not near other stallions. Becky Pruitt fled her father's ranch when her grandparents left her a large sum of money. She bought land and built a ranch near her father's, but he had plans for that money and has never forgiven her. When her foreman, Nate Paxton, brings his brother and two other marshals to hunt down the Deadeye Gang secretly with her ranch as their base, Becky has serious decisions to make, ones that could include her father. This story includes updates of people from the earlier books in the series.
I love how Mary Connealy writes relationships. They are so fun and sweet! I liked Becky's backstory and how it affected her character's reactions. The ending felt rushed to me, but not as much as some of her other books. 3.5/5 stars
I don’t know how I ended up reading the THIRD book of this series before the other two but I am definitely going back to read book one.
I am not a feminist by any means and generally prefer political things to be written in books about real events like world wars and such. I realize women’s suffrage is a real thing in our history, but nothing else really seemed real besides the fact that the story takes place in Wyoming. HOWEVER it did add a needed element to the book, since a lot of the story revolves around women’s rights and people’s opinions of them.
I appreciated how God was written into this book. I hadn’t really seen it coming. I expected it to be the usual “church was a thing but the characters aren’t really Christian” type thing but I was wrong. I definitely liked how God became so real for the characters near the end of the story.
This is a great conclusion to the Wyoming Sunrise series about three young women with untraditional jobs. Mariah is a blacksmith, Nell is a savvy businesswoman and justice of the peace, and Becky owns and runs her own large ranch. The Deadeye Gang is still active and must be finally stopped. Could it be possible that Becky's mean father, Joshua Pruitt, could be a part of the gang? Becky has to face some hard facts about her pa so it is especially good that she has Nate Paxton, her foreman, by her side. As in all good series, the main characters of the previous books are included. There is action, some humor, faith, and a dose of romance. There is also an emphasis on the qualities of a strong marriage. Mary Connealy can certainly create despicable villains but her books always feature strong, hardworking men and women of faith and high character. I enjoy her books very much. I received a complimentary copy of the book. All thoughts are my own.
Mary Connealy is one of my all time favorite authors, and I always look forward to her latest books. I have been anticipating reading Marshaling Her Heart, as I believe it is the third book in her latest series. As with Mary’s previous books, the cover design is beautifully done. While it is the third book in the series, I feel it can be read as a stand-alone without any confusion.
I have to say out of all of the books in this series, this one was my favorite! The series started out with a very strong feministic view, which at times was a little off-putting. However, this final book wrapped it up with the message that you can be a strong female that can do things as well as a man, but still be feminine. I thought there was great character development between the main characters, even in the previous books, and great chemistry. The plot was very well developed and kept me intrigued. However, there are a few things that were never answered surrounding the mystery.
Overall, the book is very well written and I look forward to reading more of Ms. Connealy’s books in the future. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good, clean Christian mystery with a touch of romance added in.
I received a complimentary copy from Bethany House through NetGalley and Interviews & Reviews in exchange for my honest review. All opinions stated are directly my own.
Marshaling Her Heart by Mary Connealy is the final book in her Wyoming Sunrise series that will hold the reader's attention from the first page to the last.
Each novel in the series has focused on three friends: Mariah, Nell, and Becky. In this book, we get more of Becky's backstory, and while those who have read the series knew how horrible her father was, we find out just how evil he truly is.
With a great plot that picks up speed and keeps you intrigued to the last page, I was delighted to visit with all the characters I've grown to love since the first book. It was wonderful to see where they were in their lives.
Since I read an unedited ARC, there were some explanations missing regarding the mystery surrounding Becky's father. But overall, this is a delightful novel that, while it can be read as a standalone, would be far more enjoyable if you read all of the books so that you can get to know these great characters and their stories. I highly recommend it!
I received a complimentary copy courtesy of Bethany House through NetGalley for my honest opinion.
MARSHALING HER HEART is a book about found family, new beginnings, women's suffrage, faith and unexpected love. It's a western set in a small Wyoming town with very likable characters, plenty of humor, romantic sparks and some danger mixed in. The previous two books are enjoyable and this third tops as the favorite and a fantastic ending to this series!
I have really enjoyed this series, but this third book was my favorite of the three. For some reason, these characters with the banter and attraction while working together on a ranch just worked for me. I also really loved Becky and Nate and how they're both strong and independent, but also hard-working and honest with good hearts. I was entertained while cheering them on, hoping that they'd keep safe, but also find their happily-ever-after. I also enjoyed that there were a few twists, turns and surprises. How things ended wasn't a surprise, but other things were as they didn't follow the usual mold for a romance, and I really liked that there were some surprises in how things played out. I also loved seeing the characters from the first two books and how they were getting on. There was such a feel of home and family in this story, even though the three main families weren't family at all, but very close friends. The elements of faith were light and woven through naturally. The romance had some sparks while also being very sweet. I pretty much loved this one!
In the end, was it what I wished for? This is a thoroughly enjoyable read from beginning to end. Readers will fall in love with these characters with the fun dialogue and entertaining situation they find themselves in. The danger adds a bit of tension that leads to a climatic finish. Definitely one to pick up! I'm looking forward to this author's next series.
Content: Some violence. Source: I received a complimentary copy from the publisher from NetGalley through Celebrate Lit, which did not require a positive review. All opinions are my own.
I could surmise from the first and second books in this Wyoming Sunrise series that Becky Pruitt’s story was going to be interesting. From her backstory we learn that she has her own ranch apart from her father’s. The details of how and why that came to be come to light in Book Three. Her father, Joshua Pruitt, reveals the depth of his depravity and the lengths to which he will go to achieve his desired goals. The action and danger as lawmen tried to round up members of the Deadeye gang kept the story moving at a brisk pace. The friends-to-more romance, while seeming to develop quickly, was based on a working friendship that had already begun in Book One so it felt very believable and ready to flourish. I enjoyed the light faith element which added a depth of spirituality to the story. While this book could be read as a standalone, I would definitely recommend reading the series in order, as there is so much background detail to be gleaned; plus, it was so enjoyable to catch up with updates on Mariah and Nell from the first two books.
