There is so much richness and depth packed into what I assumed was a small catalogue. The authors not only discuss the works produced by Edvard Munch but also the events that precipitated them, which helped shed light on his state of mind at the time. As well as decent photographs and descriptions, there is even a timeline at the end of the book, which provides further context to his works. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to know more about this famous Norwegian artist... There is definitely a lot more to him than "The Scream"!
