Course Booklet for CCNA Exploration Accessing the WAN, Version 4.0

The Cisco CCNA Exploration curriculum provides a comprehensive overview of networking, from fundamentals to advanced applications and services. This course emphasizes theoretical concepts and practical application, giving you hands-on skills for designing, installing, operating, and maintaining real-world networks. While extensive online study resources and comprehensive textbooks are available, many students and instructors have requested a low-cost printed resource that can be used to study in places where Internet access may not be available. This booklet is that resource. Drawn directly from the online curriculum, it covers every skill and competency covered in the newest CCNA Exploration Accessing the WAN course. This booklet enables you to study offline, highlight key points, and take handwritten notes. All topics are correlated directly to online web pages, helping you easily switch between offline and online content.

The online curriculum for the CCNA certification is pretty comprehensive. Although one could in theory take this course (and read this book) before the course on LAN Switching and Wireless, in reality this course presumes some knowledge of VLAN operation. These materials are very thorough and are not as out of date as those for the LAN Switching and Wireless course- there have been major advances in WiFi technology while Frame Relay and PPP remain the same. The coverage of IPv6 is decent but could be enhanced. Over all, a worthy capstone text for those following the Cisco Exploration curriculum.
