After reading Bella Maura, I have some mixed feelings on the book so I will do my very best to put into words my thoughts on it.

Dawn Dyson's style of writing in this book is extremely poetic and I do admire that! However, it was really hard to get through the first half of the book. I just didn't feel that the story line was believable. From the very start of the book everything was perfect. Too perfect. Dyson actually uses the word perfect a lot to describe the grand houses, careers, landscapes

There are so many things wrong with this work it's hard to know where to begin. Perhaps with the run-on sentences – I’m talking 50 words, 60, even 70. Take a breath already! We might instead take note of the confusing narrative (a character appears without explanation at the dinner table on page 164 and is never mentioned again. The same mistake repeats itself with another character on page 171). Or how about with the tedious dogma? In a stunningly dull and unrealistic monologue, the author ramb ...more

I have to admit that I’ve hardly read any Christian Fiction, and that I usually shy away from the genre. Bella Maura is the exception to the rule, the novel I simply couldn’t resist even if it wasn’t in a genre I usually read or am very fond of. I’m glad I made the exception, I’m glad I gave Bella Maura a chance, because it certainly does not dissapoint.

QUOTE: "How far would you go to protect your loved ones.?"

I couldn't wait to start reading BELLA MAURA and it definitely lived up to my expectations. The story is about Sienna, a well known novelist. She is a very caring and loving person, taking in homeless or abused young women. They are "her girls" and part of her family. An old college friend, Cheney calls and needs help, or so she says. Sienna comes to her aid. Sienna finds out that Cheney has a daughter that she has paid no attention

This is not only about two people meeting, falling in love and live
happily ever after. This is a terrific tool to use when people wants to
understand the terms Spiritual Warfare and Intercession better in a
fictional story. There is no glamour in this gifts as with many others.
This is a lonely road where you will not receive any acceptance from
anyone, especially the church. The world would put you in a psychiatric
ward thinking you are mad, filling you with all kinds of medicine and

Synopsis: When novelist Sienna Emory receives a desperate call from an old college friend, she feels compelled to try to help her. The Cheney she remembers was a free-spirited songwriter with an amazing ability to translate all of life's pain and joy into her work, but drugs and alcohol have made her a shell of her former self.
When Sienna arrives at Cheney's house, she finds Cheney passed out in the driveway; what she doesn't expect to find is Jonathan Driscoll, a handsome single father living

I've never read anything so spiritually powerful before in my life! Bella Maura is so hard to describe though I don't know where to begin. Sienna is a writer who has taken in 4 young ladies to be sort of like their foster mom. All of these ladies have suffered through terrible tragedies and abuse and Sienna is the key to leading them through the pain by God's power. She gets a call from an old friend Cheney who is drug addicted and drunk and everything is leading Sienna to go help her out. She f ...more

When Sienna Emory gets a call, out of the blue, from her old college roommate, Cheney, asking her for help, she drops everything to do what she can to help her old friend. She is shocked when she sees just how deep into the world of drugs and booze, this gifted songwriter as sunk. What she doesn't expect is to meet her soulmate, Jonathon Driscoll, over the passed out body of her friend.

Jonathon Driscoll is the hadsome single father of the highly gifted 5 year old Bella, neighbor AND Cheney's ex-

Long languid sentences characterize this complex tale of fast romance and slow attention to detail. Super-successful author meets once-successful musician in a chance encounter that might have been engineered by God. The author’s former friend, now addicted to drugs and alcohol, can’t even remember asking for help. Meanwhile the musician’s daughter dreams dreams and colors strangely disturbing pictures as she draws, a Christian gift that the establishment fears and denies.

I couldn't wait to read Bella Maura once I first read the synopsis for it, then when I finally cracked it open and read the first page I was immediately drawn in. The book starts off intense from the very beginning with a heavy scene involving Sienna's friend Cheney and the books intensity continues throughout. Dawn Dyson delivers a heart-warming tale and a powerful character cast that deal with heart-wrenching issues like abuse and drug addictions. The author wrote honestly, never sugarcoating ...more

I was drawn into this story from the first page. It is a heart wrenching tale that grips you and won't let go. The story is taken straight from every day life and Dawn does a great job of weaving the spiritual truth into it without being preachy. This is a great book, one that I would highly recommend!
