Natasha Hoffman knew that she'd been called to Carnac in northern France. An artist, healer, and "intuitive," Hoffman felt welcome in the presence of the mysterious giant monuments that stand there-- the megalithic standing stones set up around the same time as Stonehenge. Walking among these alignments with her companion, Hamilton Hill, she first heard the voice. "This is a library," she said, "and we can read it."

So began the "receiving" of the revelations encoded in certain of the standing stones. Sneaking past barriers, eluding gendarmes, encountering a goblin, even working by moonlight, Hoffman and Hill sought out particular stones. Natasha "read" the information held in them, using a pendulum for question-and-answer dowsing to check it. Hamilton, also a dowser, transcribed it using rods.

The messages were placed for us, as the two discovered, by the Archangels who watch over our planet. After World War I, seeing that the human race had fallen into profound disharmony with the environment and was becoming dominated by materialism and misuse of technology, these higher beings began to leave us guidelines for restoring the balance within ourselves and between humanity and nature.

Frankly I was a bit skeptical and wondered if I had wasted my money ordering The Standing Stones Speak: Messages from the Archangels Revealed, but as I have an interest in angels I decided to read this book. I guess this book could be considered a book of channeled angel messages and I do feel the authors are sincere about the messages they received. The book is copyrighted 2000. I'm not sure how long it took the authors to gather the information and write this book, but it's now close to a quarter of a century since it was written. Some of it will remind you of what you have already heard in the current spiritual movement, but I still enjoyed reading this book.

I don't know if the stories and messages in the book about the standing stones are all true, but I found this book to be an interesting read as some parts of it matches some experiences I've had. If interested in such metaphysical subjects, you may find this book of value and even if not it can be read with an open mind as a story about why these stone megaliths were constructed. Being from Hawaii with its many sacred heiaus made of stone, I can appreciate the use of stones to mark sacred places and the use of stones for many other spiritual and healing purposes. I loved the inclusion of black and white pictures of the stones as it helped me feel their presence.

The last chapter echoes Biblical warnings of a charismatic leader who will exert influence over others with a belief this person will bring about a utopia. Of course one could say this has happened many times in human history. I will leave interested parties with a quote from the last chapter as it may well resonate with these times: In past incarnations, danger has arisen from speaking your truth, which has led to persecution and suffering. This time the danger lies in failing to speak your own truth, and in consequence being unable to live it.

This is a very profound book that I read when it was recommended by a neighbor some years ago. It made a lasting impression on me and I strongly recommend it to anyone delving into the deeper meanings of our existence. They'll find answers here!
