Matthew was pretending to be a pirate when he heard the news that the city council was planning to cut the library budget. Then he remembered that his library book was a month overdue, so he hid it. At midnight, Matthew woke when a clown bus stopped on the street. Two other buses came along, but he was not allowed on any of them. When a pirate bus drove up, Matthew got on - and so began a night of adventures, including being chased by midnight librarians trying to collect overdue books. Funny ending. Fun story and illustrations.
