Management: A Practical Introduction [with Online Learning Access]
Blending scholarship and imaginative writing, ASU business professor Kinicki (of Kreitner/Kinicki Organizational Behavior 5e) and writer Williams (of Williams/Sawyer Using Information Technology 5e) have created a highly readable introductory management text in an exciting student-friendly layout certain to be well received by today’s visually oriented students. The authors have structured Management as a series of two-page spreads (i.e., left and right facing pages) of 2 - 6 pages per section, to optimize learning by presenting information in easily mastered "bite-size" chunks. Although the text is organized in a unique manner, the coverage of basic management concepts and principles is still prevalent. And besides presenting fundamental concepts of management, the book emphasizes practical advice throughout, expressed in the features "The Manager’s Toolbox," "Practical Action" boxes, real-life "Example" boxes, "Management in Action" and "Ethical Dilemma" cases, and the Web-based "Taking Something Practical Away from this Chapter".

I am counting this because I literally read every chapter for BUA301. It was a very easy read, great textbook. Easy to follow. Accessible, great content. Two thumbs up!

I have a good foundation in management thanks to this book which I have owned for several years. This book is useful not just for academics, it is also great for self development. I'd reread this again when I have the luxury.

I read this book for my management class. I have to say it has a lot of good information in it. I feel that it would behoove anyone who is a manager of any level to read this book.

I enjoyed this textbook about as much as you can enjoy reading a textbook lol. I think it helps that I had a great teacher as well.
I enjoyed all of the little side notes about different businesses and practices. I learned a lot reading this book.

This book is an example of why managers are portrayed the way they are in the Dilbert comic strips.
All of the information this book has to offer can be found in the paragraph headings. The paragraphs themselves are of no substance and contain information only useful for increasing the number of pages in the book to over 500 so that the book looks thick enough to be considered a text worthy of paying $200 for (yes, I'm not kidding $200).
Unfortunately the useful information in this text could be condensed from the its over 500 pages into a 20 slide powerpoint projected onto a screen in front of a room full of groggy, pointy-haired sycophants looking for ways to make money off of people who actually do real work.
This book is a clear example of how the standards for higher education continue to shrink into the dismal abyss that is pointlessness, bureaucracy, laziness, scams, stupidity, self-loathing, and all of the other things that I assume live inside of Donald Trump's toupee.

I'm adding this book because it's 548 pages and I read the whole dang thing.
I'm teaching a management class this term. I learned a lot, even if my students didn't. So I guess it was worth it.
