Recommends it for: designers, typographers, anyone who puts together print media regularly
Shelves: design, wishlist
Very helpful book with lots of examples and exercises.

A bit comical that the book is guilty of some entry-level typography errors such as widows. You'd think they would have worked to avoid those types of things like the plague!

This book covers a lot of material and is most helpful to an outright beginner. I was looking for a book on how to create a typeface, and this book dedicates the final ten pages to that...but in the most general terms. It does have value as a reference text, though, so not a complete loss. And it has great typogrphic exercises.
