A pretty good collection of short stories with a quite long novella at the end. As always these are a bit hit and miss and several of the stories here are pretty forgettable. Another bonus is Earl Kemp's "The Science-Fiction Book Index" ...more

This series tends to like the "One day in the life of an Astrogator" type story--also a type that was big in the '40's and '50's, where somebody gets drunk and then solves their problems (Kuttner was big on those). "The Game Of Rat and Dragon" certainly imaginative--I tend not to like Cordwainer (almost too imaginative and complicated), but the cyberpunks must hail him as a Great Pioneer. Everything else in the collection sort of o ...more
