As much as I appreciate the author is from a different time in veterinary medicine, the sexism makes this an uncomfortable read. I'll take some points away from it, but this book is largely irrelevant to me as a female vet student in 2018.
A great book. Being a country girl and having a love of animals, I suppose I was destined to enjoy it! Written with humour, in an easy to understand way, George gave us a great insight into the day-to-day life of a vet, in a remote area. Some parts made me laugh out loud, others made me cringe, but all in all I thoroughly enjoyed it! It also got me thinking how different veterinary care is today- for instance, I'd like to see how my local vet reacted to the idea of opening up a live animal in his garage!
