I just knew I would loved this book. Celina has a writing style that just keeps you captivated to the story and it’s so easy to read.

The plotline of this book is really good. If you’re a Top Gun fan, you’re going to adore this book.
It has this incredible found family trope and you can’t help but fall for everyone. I’m a Nick girl, he was the best character for me.

The relationship between the two main characters is a bit too insta love/lust for me but considering the whole story I understand it had to be this way.

The book is also so well written that you get introduced to the next book in the series without even realizing it.

Thank you to Celina, the author, for sending me an arc of this book. I’m so proud of you ❤️

2 stars out of 5

Does this author know any other words other than “slowly” , “quietly” and “quickly” ??? OMG this was so irritating. The over use of these adjectives drove me mad. The plot is pretty obvious but cute, so the two stars I’m rating it with are only for the TopGun vibes, BUT the writing gave me the ick. I almost quit reading it because I really couldn’t stand the way this book is written: it looks like google translate wrote every line - English grammar who ??? Why was this book not even edited? It felt unnatural, like it wasn’t even re-checked after being written. It is filled with grammar mistakes, poor descriptions and ridiculous dialogues. Also I couldn’t connect with any of the characters and everything happens way too fast with almost no context: how can two people go from strangers to married to having a CHILD in a matter of MONTHS ??? this is not realistic at all. Also, when Silas breaks up with Luna because he tells her that he has a risky job and doesn’t want to hurt her if he dies and blah blah blah and she’s surprised and doesn’t understand why he broke up with her: girl, why are you so dumb ??? HE JUST CLEARLY TOLD YOU WHY, what further explanation do you need? Another ridiculous thing: some officer allowing Luna, a regular civilian, to use the radio and hear live what is happening during a top-secret-super-important mission … ARE YOU SERIOUS ??? that’s definitely not how it works in the military, I know it’s just a fictional story but it is still super unrealistic and most probably illegal. I wish the author did more research on the military field before writing this book, as it is lacking of realistic details related to Silas’ job.

I’m sorry to say this but I’m kind of disappointed because the story could have had a good potential (even if full of cliches and copied from the Top Gun: Maverick movie, which I love by the way), but the writing and the poor attention to details ruined everything for me.

dnf at page 2.

“Lilian is yelling, probably because she is still excited. Lilian is the only female pilot on this team, and she is the best one as well. She is so excited that she doesn’t notice how she used the word crazy, three times in one sentence.”

“She puts down a Coke right in front of me without saying a word. I always order the same thing.”

I really don’t understand why people can’t use “” right. Punctuation is key in a book. Starting a sentence like this „" isn’t right. A sentence shouldn’t be like that.

for example…. “How are you?” - that’s correct.
„How are you?” Is wrong 🤦🏼‍♀️

DNF.
The story itself is great, this book has a lot of potential. The only problem I have with it is the writing. Was this book translated directly from another language into English? The way some sentences were structured just doesn’t make sense.

I really liked this book. But I will say it so VERY similar to Top Gun: Maverick. I liked that movie so I was glad to read it but it is almost the same.

I have the paperback and the formatting was really strange. It seemed like it was still a draft not a finalized book from publishing. Maybe the author doesn't have many books but I think there should be more of a proofread and redefined format.

Bon alors, l'histoire était assez cool parceque elle etait hyper simple à l'ire et faisait passer le temps mais l'écriture putain... l'écriture c'est quoi cette cata la ???

Bam dès les premiers chapitre " she is the most beautiful woman i've ever seen " et vice versa du côté de luna.

HAPPY RELEASE DAY!

When I told you, I ran to Amazon to buy this book. I bought the physical copy but couldn't wait for it to arrive, so I already read it on my Kindle with KU!
My friend suggested this novel to me, as she already had the opportunity to read it before it got released, and she was so in love with the story!
A romance novel that gives you the same vibes as TopGun Maverick?! I had to read it myself!
And I didn't get disappointed! This book is filled with beach vibes ;) for all the beach scene lovers, enough Air Force content and spicy romance!
I absolutely fell in love with the characters, and I can't wait to get to know them better in the upcoming novels!

Luna and Silas both have a rule. Luna doesn't want to date an aviator as she lost her dad on a mission. She never wanted to have the same life as her mother, living in fear of losing the one she loved.
Silas doesn't want to date at all. He is a lone wolf without any family or friends. Somehow he thinks he isn't worthy of love.
Seeing their development in the book is just aaaahhh!!! I LOVE IT!
This is definitely bringing TopGun summer back!

For people who love the military trope + want a book with endless summer vibes, this might be the book for you!!

Thank you so much, Celina, for providing me a copy of your book! I was so excited to hear that I'll receive an ARC!
Above the Clouds instantly moved to my TBR shelf when I heard it is a TopGun-inspired book! I just needed to read something that gave me the same feeling as the movie.
This book did not disappoint! It has the perfect amount of excitement, naval aviator stuff, and romance!
At first, I thought the romance part would move too quickly, but the further you get into the story, the more it makes sense! I absolutely loved it, and I read the novel in less than two days! I just couldn't put it aside!
It soaked me completely into the story! I love books that make you feel like you're a part of it, and Above the Clouds definitely gives those comfort feelings.
I quickly fell in love with the aviator family the author created, and I definitely can't wait to read more of it.

I normally try to avoid military romance because it is too much worries about the main characters and their well-being, but I couldn’t miss out on this one! It is about aviators and their duty, about sky, love and enjoying simple things in life! It is beautiful! 💙

This book is full of feelings! The story isn’t complicated but it is so emotional! I loved that main and secondary characters were so close, it is a real found family there.

Luna and Silas are not typical grumpy/ sunshine, but rather lone wolf and sunflower! But they are perfect for each other!

While reading I had a feeling that I am watching a film like those with Tom Cruise: Mission impossible or Top Gun!

If you are into military romance - you should for sure read this one! I am convinced that you will fall in love with Luna and Silas and their friends! Looking forward to Book 2 of a series! 💙

This book might be one of my all-time favorites!
If you're longing for a book with the perfect summer vibe, this is the one! We're getting tons of sunset and beach vibes and a friend group that grew together as a family.
Some of the characters are naval aviators, introducing us to the world of exciting and dangerous missions they have to fly!
The love between Luna and Silas is a bit insta, but considering the plotline, it fits perfectly!
The plot twists had me gasping and maybe also a little bit crying. I just love the book so much and the world Celina created here!

Thank you so much for sending me an ARC. Absolutely loved your new book, Celina!

I thought it was just me and some glitch causing the layout and grammar of the book until I read the reviews.

The storyline was predictable (not a bad thing I sometimes like it) but I felt it was more of a first draft copy rather than a final one. There was so much room for improvement, development and depth that wasn’t took advantage of.

I decide to DNF due to grammar, it didn’t…flow.

the plot was very good and cute and if we ignore the bad grammar/writing (it was giving a wattpad fanfic written by a 12 year old most of the time) then it’s actually a really good book! it probably would’ve been five stars if the writing was executed better

The story of Silas and Luna ist full of love, hope and fear. It has "Top Gun Beach Scene" Vibes. 😏

Aviators in uniform and a friend group that's more like a found family. I love the story and the character development of Silas and Luna. They both overcome their greatest fears to find love and happiness. Something that's very difficult for both of them because of their past. Although they‘ve lost so much here they take a stand and fight for what they want, regardless of the danger Silas puts himself in every single day because of his job as one of the best aviators of the marines.

The great mission his team is training for could be his death and not only his, because some of Lunas and his friends could also be part of that mission.

This book is the first part of the series and the story of Luna and Silas made me cry twice while reading. It broke my heart to see Luna, Silas and their friends full of fear because of the mission even it was a little bit too often repeated, that they don't know what the mission is and that they are scared. The start was slow but I loved the last third full of action and emotions and I'm definitely curious what book 2 about Jane and Nick will bring to us.

Okay this book has such a different setting from what I usually read but I liked it so much that I devoured the book.

Silas is back in the city that haunted her, Luna is working a the place where she lost a part of her family too and decided to never date someone from the force but there is a spark between them.

I love the stories where the group is tight knit and every character has personalities so different that they contrast and compliment.
