I must admit that this short story isn't my favourite Sam Crescent book, although I liked the characters and I knew that it was a novella I still though that there was a lot missing in the development of the story, having said that, I did enjoy the concept and it does have a lovely HEA.
Author Annie Wells hadn't expected to be left to care for a young baby, the result of very strange circumstances, but Annie loved children and she would love Tara as though she was her own, but Annie didn't know how to care for such a young child.
Caleb Nanny (yes, that is his surname) ran an agency heiring out nannies but for some reason, when the beautiful blond came into his office, not to hire a nanny but to hire someone to teach her how to look after the baby, Caleb was smitten, he decided against his better judgement to take the job himself.
As the story quickly unfolds both Annie and Caleb's troubled backgrounds are uncovered, they quickly become an item but are they doing the right thing ? have they both ditched their pasts or are feelings still lingering ?
I felt a bit sorry for Annie, Caleb had his best friend Ryan and his wife Katherine in his corner making sure that he didn't get his heart broken again but Annie didn't have anyone to support her.
In short, a lovely idea for a story, likable characters, a lovely HEA but gaps that I feel could have been filled even if it was a novella.
I received a free copy of this book and my review is voluntary.
