Rate this book
Have you ever leafed through a Bible and thought, It's got to be easier than this! It is easier---lots easier---to understand. After all, if anyone knows how to communicate with you clearly, and wants to, it's God. That's why the Bible was originally written in everyday language---so everyone who read it could instantly grasp its meaning. And that's why this Bible was created---to make God's message once again instantly understandable. The TNIV/The Message//REMIXParallel Bible is actually two Bibles set side by side for you to dig into and compare. Each one is created to give you God's message in your own language. Open it up and see for yourself. You'll * Today's New International Version (TNIV)---'Timeless truth. Today's language.' That's the heartbeat of the TNIV. Taking away the language barriers for today's readers, this translation puts the Bible into everyday words. It's the real God's Word, straight and to the point. * The Message//REMIX---Created by Eugene Peterson for today's reader, The Message reads as if God were sitting across from you, talking with you over a cup of coffee. And the REMIX restores verse references to The Message so you can quickly relate the place you're reading to other Bibles if you want to. This Bible includes The Message//REMIX's book introductions, so you can start your reading of each book of the Bible with all the information you need to really know what it's saying. The more time you spend in TNIV/The Message//REMIX Parallel Bible, the more you'll be able to read, think, pray and live in the truth.

I enjoyed reading through the Bible this year 2011 in the Message version. It was especially enjoyable in the Old Testament. I got one month off my reading plan and got stopped in the NT, but it was still a great accomplishment for the year.

I'm not a HUGE message fan but this is as good as it gets since NIV is there too and it's small enough to actually carry around. If you can get beyond the NIV/TNIV debate then go ahead and take the plunge!

This is my favorite translation of the Bible- the Message rocks, but I can also follow along at church.
