I thought the book was interesting because it showed what gay people of color go through, especially having very few role models on television. The book mentions people in sports, what they go through, the few people who are out, such as Wanda Sykes.

The book was the last that I read in the series and it was one of the good books. There are resources listed at the end of each chapter, as in the others, with books and websites that those interested can explore for further information.

I think most interesting for me was the information on gay African Americans and the struggles for their identity along with their religion. I know faith often plays a large role in many lives and that the failure of the church to believe that homosexuality is a natural occurence and not a sin against God causes many to feel conflicted in their faith and their personal life.

I might liked this book more if I were younger but I did find it informative and current in information. I was just happy to see a book on LGBT people of color. Predominately focused on Black and Latino LGBT folks with some highlights from Asian LGBT communities. Nice primer with directions to more information and resources particular for youth.
