This January and February I was finally able to go on my South American trip that I’ve wanted to do for years. First stop was Buenos Aires and then Rio.

I bought A LOT of books to prepare for this trip, including this one.

This book was hands down the best guide to Rio that I found. The advice is excellent for a first time visitor like myself and the tips made Rio a better experience than I could have dreamed of.

If you are going to Rio any time soon, check out this book.

In spite of its focus, this book earned much higher marks than a lot of the traditional travel guide books (Lonely Planet, et al) on Amazon, and it turns out for good reason. Not only did the book describe "where the party at," but it also gave good, succinct information rather than a shit-ton of worthless pages of hotels and restaurants.
