A new edition of the quintessential guide for parents. Most parents understand the importance of providing their children with nutritious, well-balanced meals, yet they sometimes need help and guidance in order to prepare healthy dishes when their children are between the critical ages of two and ten years old. In these early years children can develop the positive attitudes toward good nutrition that will allow them to lead to a healthy lifestyle as adults. This new edition of Better Food for Kids
I took my time going through this one. My kids have been changing diets lately and we wanted to ensure we were making some healthy choices. I loved the recipes, they don't look hard, and her dietitian is well pleased with what he found in the book. All in all, I'd say it is a great resource for parents and doctors.
I liked this book ok. It was interesting seeing the US and Canada guidelines next to each other. I never considered that other countries would be giving people different advice on food intakes.
I only got around to making one of the recipes in the book, banana muffins. They were good. I didn't have enough bananas so I made up the difference with applesauce so that may have had some skewing affect.
Great info - some really good recipes. I agree with the author that disguising fruits and vegetables in a child's diet, although better than nothing, is not the answer--variety and constant exposure is.
