I needed a change of pace, after reading the books for book club. I went to our library book sale and found this much shorter book about a young girl who decides to cat sit. The title refers to the name of her next-door neighbor's cat, who disappears shortly before the neighbor moves. She finds the cat and hands her to them before they leave, yet she thinks she sees the cat later. Beth has a hard time going to various homes to feed some of the pets, so she brings them to various places in her home. She begins to notice things missing as a towel that covered the rabbit's cage and cat food disturbed. When the men come to get the neighbor's washer and dryer, she notices that they did not cover the vent hole. When she returns to the home she discovers that there are kittens in a box that held toys. Copy-Cat was pregnant before the neighbors left and came to the only home she knew to have her babies. The new neighbor comes before she was expected and decides to adoptCopy-Cat and one of the kittens. Beth finds homes for the other three kittens. The mystery was solved.

This is another cute book. Like I've said, totally loved mysteries as a kid and the animal lovers would like this. It's a little dated (check out the jeans on that cover, baha), but not too bad. It reminds me a little bit of Anastasia At Your Service (and those are all wonderful books, by the way). Beth is clever and responsible and it was an enjoyable read. Read the rest on my blog.
