"If we can leave them a little better off than they were before we came, we've fulfilled our duty to them and to their maker."

This is an excellent primer on the art of groundwork by one of the masters. This brings Buck's typical voice and simplistic explanations. This is easy to digest and understand, though don't mistake that as being easy to accomplish!

This wasn't necessarily new information for me, since I've been studying Buck's method for a long time, but it was a great refresher, and rereading it this time around *deeply* impacted both my life and my horsemanship.

Rereading some of the better training books. I am definitely going to work on leading by the leg and coming up and standing at the fence for mounting. Good information on getting your horse ready for saddling, with front and back cinch. As the weather changes here and I can't ride I'll have things to work on to keep my horse in top shape and easier to manage for the farrier as well.

This was a really good book on ground work. Not too much text to read, with lots of black and white pictures to illustrate points. I wish Brannaman gave clearer instruction because some of his training techniques didn't seem practical, which is "odd" for his training techniques so I am thinking perhaps the book lacked explanation to the process and circumstances of some training methods.

I found this incredibly hard to follow and the stuff in there isn't really for the beginner. I like other stuff by buck, but this was not really that great
