It was my first Florida native plant book back in the 80s. It is rather tattered and pieces of plants fall out as you turn the pages. It taught me more about where I live than anything had yet and since then I have become a master naturalist and continue to enjoy and try and preserve our native world.

Perhaps the only negative thing that can be said about this guide is that it doesn't cover every Florida botanical species. However for those covered in this book, the photographs are excellent (Brian Taylor) as are the descriptor text and keys. I've used it frequently with excellent results.
