Unfortunately this book was way off. While reading it to my kindergarten students they found a glaring error on page six. Joel Kupperstein wrote "Pilgrims where thankful for their schools." Well Joel, Pilgrims didn't have schools! Even my kindergarten children knew that! The illustration showed boys and girls reading books! No one had books they where too valuable, and the girls where certainly never taught to read or write. Pilgrim children where taught to do the work they would do as adults, farm and keep house. Sorry Mr. Kupperstein I give this book 0 stars.
This simple book is totally from the point of view of the Pilgrims: they did this and they did that and they met friends who helped them. The last line of the book is: "And I am thankful for the Pilgrims." Sheesh!
This was a very simple book about Thanksgiving. It talks about things the pilgrims were thankful for that we are still thankful for now. Would be great for young readers learning about Thanksgiving.
This book is a very interesting and informational for students, especially around Thanksgiving. This book helps explain different things that people can be thankful for.
