This guide has great color photos of the plants, animals, and insects that frequent North America's deserts. The layout is not especially easy for a novice, but it remains a guide that I want to keep in my collection.

This guide covers the four major North American deserts (Great Basin, Mojave, Sonoran, Chihuahuan). It includes photographs and descriptions of the more common plants, reptiles, amphibians, fish(!), insects, mammals and birds.
