My favorite of the series so far. I loved the Native American aspect and inclusion in the novel and their part in deciding the next Shaman King. The action was fluent and it featured a totem pole cannon (yes, you read that right.) The artwork was great and the story is getting intense and the tournament is only just beginning. The only negative would be the use of some stereotypes for the Native American characters but unfortunately at this point, it’s almost become unavoidable in popular cultur ...more

Shaman King is Rated Teen and has scenes of violence and this volume has at least one incident of a murder though they don't show the actual act committed (of course the story revolves around certain ghosts that have died prematurely so death is not uncommon.)

With the twin Comets of Rahu and Ketu signalling the beginning of the Shaman King Tournament the Patch Tribe has been dispatched to ensure only those that are qualified may compete for the grand title. After all the Patch tribe are the onl

So far I like this series. I like the characters a lot, and the storyline is pretty neat. I especially like learning about the different types of shamans and their beliefs. I wonder if Takei-san did all sorts of research about the different shamans - or if some of them are just made up. Either way, it's super cool, and I find it very interesting!

The one thing I am worried about is that this series is going to turn out to be like Dragon Ball.... there are 29 volumes left, so I'm worried it's just

Before the official battles over who becomes the next Shaman King, Yoh needs to qualify for the battles. Silva arrives to battle with Yoh for ten minutes and in that time, Yoh gains so much power. He learns a lot and when he finally gets the pager, he has earned it.

Then the pager goes off, and the first battle is announced. Yoh will fight Horohoro and whoever wins will advance in the challenges.

So far, this is still as exciting as the first volume and now that a steady arc is developed, it will

So f-in cool! I love these darker drawings.

In this volume, Yoh meets Silva and fights him for the pager for the Shaman King Tournament. He also learns what the oversoul is and integrates Amidamaru in the sword.
Later on, he fights his first fight with Horohoro and learns what his dream is. Their fight only begins and the book ends (tbc).

I don't remember seeing in the TV series Ren killing one of the officiants, that's cool.
I enjoyed it as always.

Volume 4 of Shaman King: In which our plucky protagonist, Asakura Yoh powers up and learns a new move; fights his first tournament battle (with someone who most likely we'll be his ally in the future); and learns that Native Americans can use their spirit powers to create mecha cannons.

jajajaja, este volumen me encanta, se presentan tanto Silver como Horo Horo, con el primero la batalla es muy emocionante y con el segundo muy divertida. Genial
