Loved it. Beautiful writing. She was a fantastic story teller and I loved reading Alex Lowe’s letters to his family. He truly painted some vivid imagery with his words. Great insight into the life of an incredible alpinista and his family. An inspiring read, albeit sad at certain points.
When I first moved to Montana, I stumbled across a biography of George Mallory, the young Brit with a talent for reading mountains who may have been the first white man to scale Everest. He died in an avalanche from his summit attempt. As I finished that book, the news spread that a National Geographic film about Conrad Anker, a mountaineer from Bozeman, Montana, finding Mallory's body was going to premiere at our local theatre.
