Il s'agit bien d'une encyclopédie, concentrée sur les spiritueux et liqueurs. Donc rien sur le vin (bien que l'auteur soit un oenologue reconnu), ni sur les bières. Mais alors quel ouvrage : richement illustré, très complet, très clair, une mine d'information pour tout amateur de bons produits (rien n'oblige à consommer!), une grande part donné aux brandys et whiskies mais sans oublier les alcools et liqueurs moins connus, de tous pays. A lire sans modération.

an amazing reference guide to Spirits...while labeled as a guide to Spirits and Cocktails, the definite focus is on Spirits, and that is so refreshing....there is a thousand book out there to tell you how to make an old fashioned, but not so many to go into the detail in different liqueurs, Pastis, Armagnacs, etc...

This was my 2nd time through this monster of a read...and I liked it even more. A must read for any spirits nerd.

Yksi suurimmista aarteistani. Tätäkin kolmekiloista opusta on saanut jo jonkun verran teippailla ajan saatossa. Kirja on täynnä aivan ihania kuvia baareista ympäri maailman, herkullisia drinkkiohjeita sekä kiinnostavaa historiaa konjakeista ja hedelmäviinoista absinttiin ja viskiin asti. Haaveilen vielä joskus lukevani joka ainoan sivun - nyt täytyy kyllä myöntää, että olen saattanut hypätä armanjakin valmistuksen ja tequilan syntyhistorian yli.
