Robert Stearns is widely recognized as a visionary leader, compelling communicator, gifted strategist, and influential bridge builder. He is the founder and executive director of Eagles' Wings, a global movement of churches, ministries, and leaders. Stearns is the founder of the worldwide prayer initiative, The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem, which is observed every year the first Sunday in October. Robert regularly consults internationally with high-ranking governmental, religious and business leaders. He has met privately with Israeli Prime Ministers Ariel Sharon, Ehud Olmert, and Benjamin Netanyahu concerning Israel-Christian relations. He has lectured in colleges and universities across America. In Israel, he has been a guest artist and worship leader at many celebrations of the Feast of Tabernacles, and has ministered throughout the land.
In media, Stearns is regularly featured as a columnist in magazines such as Charisma and Ministries Today. He is frequently a featured guest on television and radio, having appeared on WABC in NYC, GODTV, The 700 Club, 100 Huntley St, TBN, the Daystar network and many others, and has been featured in a variety of interviews, including several for the Jerusalem Post.
Rev. Stearns serves on numerous non-profit boards. He is a member of the Foursquare Association, the Mission America Coalition, the National Prayer Committee, and the Fellowship of International Christian Word of Faith Ministries (FICWFM). He was the executive director of The Call New York City which gathered 90,000 mostly young people in New York City in 2002 for a day of prayer for the nation. In 2005, he served on the leadership committee for the NYC Billy Graham Crusade, the last of Rev. Graham’s career.
Rev. Stearns served on the Executive Cabinet as the International Worship Coordinator for the 2006 Azusa Centennial Celebration, which had more than 50,000 participants from over 80 nations, and in 2010 led the Middle East teaching track at the Empowered 21 gathering in Tulsa, OK, which gathered thousands of church leaders from 54 nations. In recognition of his work, he received an honorary doctorate in 2009 from National Seminary in Fort Washington, MD.
Robert, and his three sons live in New York, and spend a great deal of time in Jerusalem, Israel.
