Sapete, quelle sensazioni a pelle.

Asa i-am spus sufletului meu: fii calm si asteapta fara speranta

Eliot's second collection, published in 1920, is my least favorite of his works, and yet, I still love to read these poems. There are a few not in English that must be skipped over, and on the whole they stand together less than his other collections, but there are poems here that are a pleasure to read, like the nonsensical but entertaining "The Hippopotamus."

I am reading more poetry these days not only in order to simply enjoy it, but to increase that enjoyment by increasing my understanding. Rather than read books that explain poetry, I just want to read the poetry itself. I'm also reading more of it, because I love how poetry adds to language, description, imagination, and experience.

Eliot best poems - until the next.

This poetry is about moods and images and little else. As a consequence, it is fragmented and dreamy, like half-asleep reflections made on a slow, rainy evening. Fascinating but not truly coherent.

Can't really judge this one, half the poems are in French. I liked the sound of one ("A Cooking Egg"), chuckled once or twice ("The Hippopotamus"), and didn't follow much else.
