Guy Endore was a famous Hollywood scriptwriter (Werewolf of Paris etc) who wrote vivid and entertaining biographies. His book on Dumas is no exception.

Dumas was a larger than life character. A six foot three (1.9m) part negro, he was an expert swordsman, superb calligrapher, fluent linguist, brilliant conversationalist, ardent Republican, collector of medals and Royal orders, organiser of his infamous 'fiction factory', outrageous plagiarist, spendthrift whose complex financial affairs might

Recommends it for: All
Mr. Guy Endore, a prolific writer, his early education in Europe, depicts Alexandre Dumas through magnificent literary ability. A pleasant novel to gain knowledge of the playful happiness of Dumas. Not a man without difficulties, but a man with insatiable savior-faire, a man seeking, always, the pursuit of excellence, never allowing men or the world to win! Mr. Endore triumphed in his presentation of a free man of African descent. Congratulations!

This book is quite awesome... A little bit confused for the first three chapters, but enjoyable for the rest chapters.

My favorite parts is the conflict between Dumas and his little abandoned family: Catherine and Alexandre... He really make their life upside down...
Dumas is loveable and hate-able character...

There's so much boring explanation, thought. But the book is still great.
