I don't know what to think of this.....
It's quite a harrowing play about police brutality in Arlington, against a young man who was stopped because of a broken backlight and beaten.
I've given it a three because it got a little confusing. I think it would be better listening or watching this one. It just seemed a little all over the place for me.
Amazing content and heartbreaking for what I did understand. Id love to see it live. ...more

I’m intrigued by Sleep Deprivation Chamber’s continuous intertwining with Hamlet because even as Hamlet is a play about guilt and abused power, it is also a play about uncertainty. In Hamlet it is not as clear as it would seem that Hamlet is justified in seeking revenge, or that the story the Ghost tells (i.e., the Ghost’s testimony) is reliable. It hurts the soul how of-the-moment "Sleep Deprivation Chamber" feels considering Adrienne Kennedy wrote this play with her son 20 years ago but this nightmarish drama (based on the younger Kennedy's assault by and persecution from the police, who'd ostensibly pulled him over for a broken taillight) manifests the unending racist insanity that continues to plague our country.
