Lucy Cousins, BA Honours in Graphic Design from The Faculty of Arts and Architecture, Brighton Polytechnic, postgraduate degree from Royal College of Art, is an author-illustrator of children's books. She is best known for her books featuring Maisy Mouse but she has also published other children's books including one about Noah's Ark. She is a mother of four and lives in Hampshire, England. Her own children are the inspiration for her books whose age range is 2-8.

This is a short but yet sweet book that I think would be wonderful for young readers or to be read to young children as a bed time story. The pictures are adorably colorful and bring to life the words and images on the pages. The words are written and phrased almost poem like and I find this to be an interesting way to write a story for young readers. This book is only a few pages long but within those pages children get to see the peacefulness of getting ready for bed as the sun goes down in the sky and the moon rises up.

Another of Lucy Cousins' Maisy stories, this one about the mouse and her toy panda preparing for bed. This is a good book for bedtime as it mirrors the rituals of many western families, while also teaching self-reliance. Maisy puts herself to bed after reading a story and singing a song to her bear, The narrator tells Maisy to go back to bed when she gets up for a final look out the window, but otherwise she is tucking herself in, modeling independence.

Am I wrong in thinking Maisy became a TV show? My son picked out this book because it had a mouse on the cover. Definitely age appropriate for 3 year olds, short and sweet. The illustrations are fire (especially the sky and the little cat). The content is just alright. Also I just realized a mouse having a pet cat is hilarious! Overall, 3/5 ⭐️

This time we get to see Maisy go from playing with her friends to what a night routine looks like for Maisy. There is no strong plot but a good read to easy your child into getting ready for bed.

I LOVE IT SO MUCH, GUYS. I read this for storytime prep, and I adored it so much that I read it again. Because the very small board book is the only format my library has, I probably won't read this for storytime unless I have a really small group, but it's precious. (Update: The hardcover I ordered for myself arrived in time for me to read it!)

The book shows Maisy playing with her friends, shows her watching a beautiful sunset, and goes through the details of her bedtime routine. I loved all of the stuffed panda bear content, and the page with her singing to her bear made me so happy. However, even aside from my personal bias regarding favorite stuffed pandas, the book is extremely cute and charming. I would definitely recommend it.

Also, while many bedtime books try to introduce conflict or a funny twist, this one is realistic, relatable, and soothing, making it perfect for putting a baby or toddler to bed. The illustrations and text are both lovely, giving the book a comforting feeling.

This story is really all about illustration because I cannot find the meaning of this story. It seems to be about a Mouse named Maisy who plays with his friends doing the day and as the sun goes down he puts his toy panda to sleep. I am not really fond of the authors series of Maisy books because they seem to go nowhere as far as lessons are concerned but she does use a lot of colors.

Sweet book that is quite basic and can be classed as a 'first read' with just 8 pages. It has very colourful pictures to match the description in the text. A short story about Maisy the mouse going to bed, it could be a good book to use for circle/group time in early years.
