Color and Composition for the Creative Quilter by Katie Pasquini Masopust and Brett Barker, C&T Publishing. This book is written by an art quilter and art teacher. It is designed to have the quilter do the exercises. The mastering of creativity is increased by the discipline of practice.

This book has some good information on colors, values and composition. I particularly liked the last part where artists showed their failures, explaining why and how they remedied this.

This is a great little book of artistic exercises to help quilters learn about color and composition. The author has included lots of great little lessons taken directly from the fine arts-from contour drawing to creating value scales and a color wheel with fabric. I'd recommend this book to any quilter interested in learning some new ways to create original quilts.
