I think this is one of those instances where publishers think that if you have fancy motion pictures (done in the scanimation style popularized by Rufus Butler Seder) that you don't really need to pay much attention to having quality text.
There's nothing wrong with the rhyming text... other than it being incredibly dull and predictable. I feel like I've read the same bland cutesy rhymes so many times already.
The illustrations aren't that much better. Again, the artist is certainly competent--but the style is so generic.
I'm sure that plenty of toddlers will have fun with this book... but you could pick up pretty much any of these motion picture books and I'm sure your little one will like it equally as well.
